Ju Hyun Lee (1981, Seoul) is South Korea born artist and researcher who lives and works in different places (sometimes at the same time).
This year, she is based in Maastricht (NL) as a participant at the Van Eyck, organising a series of performances FGFG — A Kitchen Debate together with Ludovic Burel (KVM).
They are curators and scenographers of the exhibition “Cut&Care — A Chance to Cut is A Chance to Care” for International Design Biennial of Saint-Etienne at the Cité du Design in 2017.
KVM published their first book in 2015, “Counter Fictional Design” which contains the scores (texts and images) of five of their conferences-performances (“Celebration of Body #2”, “The Mechanical Turk or Dwarf in the Machine”, “Purely Diagrammatic #2”, “Pop & Political Korean Karaoke – To Sing Foucault”, “Store & Scores”).
Since their collaboration in 2012, KVM’s research projects had a support of Institut Français, FNAGP (Fondation Nationale des arts Graphiques et Plastiques /FR), FIACRE-Rhône-Alpes (FR), Institut Français of Seoul (FR), Université Pierre Mendes-France (FR), NIDA Art Colony (LT), Cow House Studios (IE), Bazar Compatible Program (CN), Institut Français of Stuttgart & Kunstverein of Stuttgart (DE), Academie Schloss Solitude (DE), Frac PACA (FR), In-Lab Program of Jan van Eyck Academie (NL).
